Overview of YCHRS’s Record, Mission, Expertise in Capacity Building, Localization, Operational Capabilities, and Eligibility The Yemen Center for Human Rights Studies (YCHRS) was established on April 20, 2004, in Aden Governorate. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor under license number (682-579). The center enjoys an independent legal personality and undertakes diverse research, scientific, cultural, and humanitarian activities. YCHRS possesses extensive experience in implementing projects in collaboration with international organizations in vital fields, including human rights, peacebuilding, good governance, anti-corruption, democracy, and the rule of law, in addition to projects aimed at the economic and political empowerment of women. The center has achieved tangible accomplishments in these areas. Through its broad scope of work, the center aims to effectively contribute to achieving sustainable development in Yemen, promoting human rights and the rule of law, achieving gender equality, empowering women, preventing conflicts, and building lasting peace. Our vision, mission, and objectives are crystallized in contributing to adopting and supporting community issues across its various segments and protecting human rights. This is achieved through raising awareness about human rights and democracy, combating corruption, upholding the rule of law, promoting good governance, and countering terrorism and extremism by fostering social peace, developing a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and peace, achieving justice, equality, and the rule of law, and safeguarding human dignity and both private and public freedoms. We also support youth and women’s issues, empowering them at various levels—whether political, legal, or professional—to enable their effective participation and contribution to community stability and development. This is done through partnerships with the government, local authorities, local community components, the private sector, and security agencies, recognizing that community issues and problems are interconnected with these stakeholders.
