Indigenous Women Development Affairs (IWDA) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering indigenous and pastoralist communities in Tanzania, with a particular focus on Longido and Ngorongoro districts. Formed to address the socio-economic, environmental, and gender-based challenges facing these communities, IWDA promotes human rights, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. Grounded in its constitution, IWDA aims to improve quality of life for indigenous people through advocacy for land rights, digital literacy programs, vocational training, and economic empowerment initiatives. By integrating traditional knowledge with modern resources, IWDA supports women, youth, and marginalized groups in achieving sustainable self-reliance and resilience within their communities.
This foundation is evident in IWDA’s core values of justice, fairness, accountability, and community solidarity. Through its diverse programs, IWDA strives to equip indigenous communities with the tools and knowledge to overcome social, economic, and environmental challenges while preserving their cultural heritage.

The Collective of Women’s Associations and NGOs of Burundi, CAFOB for short, is a non-profit non-governmental organization, created in 1994 on the initiative of seven women’s associations and with the Canadian Center for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) at the height of the crisis that shook Burundi. It was registered with the Ministry of the Interior on January 20, 1997 under number 530/044. CAFOB is the oldest and largest collective of women’s associations and non-governmental organizations in Burundian civil society, which today has 72 functional associations.
