Founded after the UNFPA sub-analysis of the 2007 Zambia Demographic Health Survey (ZDHS) which indicated that two out of five girls (about 42%) were married before their 18th birthday, MUSOKOTWANE Compassion Mission Zambia (MCMZ) is a vibrant Choma based youth-led anti-child marriage flagship organization that seeks to inspire and achieve immediate and sustainable long lasting breakthroughs in the fight against Early, Forced Child Marriages and Sexual Exploitation of children in Choma, Zambia since 2008. MCMZ is an approved Public Benefit Organization (PBO) exempted under Section 41 of the Tax Income Act, Chapter 323 of the Laws of Zambia. MCMZ is a member organization of Girls Not Brides Global Partnership on Ending Child Marriages worldwide. MCMZ retrieves an average of fifty (50) girls from early and forced child marriage annually who are provided for with temporal safe shelter, alternative care homes, basic needs and education sponsorship at MCMZ Centre of Excellency on Ending Child Marriages.
