EDN, alongside global civil society organizations, endorsed the 2024 Open Letter on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS). This critical initiative urges the UN and its member states to fulfill commitments under Resolution 1325, ensuring women’s full, equal, and meaningful participation in peacebuilding processes. EDN’s involvement highlights our dedication to amplifying marginalized voices in global peace and security dialogues.

In collaboration with global networks like the Women’s Major Group (WMG), EDN actively contributed to discussions shaping the 2024 position paper for the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF).

EDN played a pivotal role in supporting the 2023 Open Letter on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), which demands urgent action to uphold commitments to gender equality in conflict zones. By partnering with leading organizations, EDN ensured that diverse perspectives were integrated into the letter’s call for sustainable peace, accountability, and the protection of women human rights defenders.

As part of its advocacy efforts, EDN collaborated with the Women’s Major Group (WMG) to shape the 2023 HLPF Position Paper. The document emphasizes the urgent need for systemic reforms to advance the 2030 Agenda, with a focus on gender equality, social justice, and environmental sustainability. EDN’s input ensures that voices from underrepresented communities are at the forefront of global decision-making.
