As part of a global coalition of civil society organizations, EDN commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). In a joint statement, EDN and partners reaffirmed the foundational principles of equality, freedom, and dignity for all. The statement highlights the ongoing struggle against systemic discrimination, emphasizing the importance of collective action to ensure the realization of rights for marginalized communities.

In collaboration with international advocacy groups, EDN has co-signed a powerful letter urging the Human Rights Council to appoint a woman from the Global South as the next UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment. The letter emphasizes the need for gender equity and geographic representation to tackle the interconnected crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
